Which Bases are best for me?
This is a question we often get! It depends on your goal and experience tweaking bases. None of our bases run well right out of the bag. The prongs (or feet) need to be manipulated with heat to get them straight and then angled.
If you are brand new to tweaking I strongly recommend the Championship Level I (CL-1) bases as they are much easier to tweak and more forgiving of errors.
If you plan to play competitively and are an experienced tweaker the CL-2 bases can’t be beat. You can get amazing strength from these bases.
What are the different formulas?
Base Formulas
Every coach in EF who competes for the title has developed his/her own tweaking style. Because all coaches are different, all tweaking styles are different…ITZ recognizes this and we work to make three different plastic types, so that each coach has bases that will help him or her to chase miniature football perfection and in doing so catch the title!
Formula 37
Formula 37 is our softest plastic. Coaches with a light touch can make any of the ITZ prong types (fast, strong, and power) perform with this plastic! While you can definitely get speed, this plastic is known for its incredible strength, and most of the champions in EF have used bases with formula 37 as their offensive line and interior DL.
Formula 55
Just a little more firm than the formula 37, this plastic allows great strength but with more athleticism. While you can tweak this plastic to be anything, most tournament coaches prefer these on their lines, linebackers, tight ends, and running backs!
Formula 100
This is the original strong plastic! This is the firmest of the three plastics and is great in the hands of expert tweakers who can maximize their tweak as a result of the rigidity. Receivers, backs, and some of the most athletic linemen you will ever see are possible if you learn to tweak this plastic!
How are they made?
All of our bases start with our ideas. Years of brainstorming and experimenting along with valuable information and feedback from coaches around the world. We then hire a professional designer to create digital prototypes which are 3-D printed to test size and fit. The final designs are sent to the factory where a steel injection mold is created. Samples are then sent to us and once it has been approved they are manufactured in the factory.
What is coming next?
We are finishing the designs for a brand new base that will be packaged with all Tudor Games electric football fields. Look for them to arrive in late 2023
